Yoga is considered the essence of a healthy life. A person practising Yoga on a regular basis not only ensures a healthy lifestyle, but also attains the much desired peace of mind. It is the greatest stress-buster and a remedy for curing a number of chronic ailments.

 

Yoga is broadly divided into eight types. Most of them involve the use of different poses (Asanas), meditation and breathing exercises (Pranayams). In this section, we have discussed the eight prominent types of yoga, their technique and their benefits on the health of the practitioner.

Day 01: ARRIVE DELHI

Arrive Delhi.

Day 02: DELHI – HARIDWAR

We will have an early breakfast and transfer to the train station to catch the Shatabdi Express to Haridwar (4.5 hour)


On arrival in Haridwar we will drive o our yoga centre situated in a peaceful location out of the city on the banks of the Ganges. Once you have checked-in and had time to freshen up after the journey there will be a tour of the centre and meet the staff.

 

After lunch we will begin with the first, introductory part of the course.In the evening we will drive into Haridwar and walk along the incredible ghats, from here we can watch the Aarti ceremony – an evening ritual during which Hindu piests bless the holy waters of the Ganges. We then return to the centre for dinner. Overnight in Haridwar. (Yoga Centre)

Day 03 IN HARIDWAR

Early in the morning we will walk down to the river for our first yoga session, this will be led by one of the expert tutors from the centre. After breakfast there will be a meditation class followed by a discussion/ questions and answers session. After lunch the afternoon is free. Guests can take the opportunity to receive one of the many treatments such as aryuvedic massage and reiki. In the evening guests can again watch the Aarti ceremony performed at one of the other main ghats or watch a Bhajan recital (Bhajans are ancient hindu devotional songs which are sung to bring us closer to our inner selves) Dinner will be served at h centre. Day 04: HARIDWAR – DHANOLTRI

This morning after yoga beside the river and breakfast we will leave for Dhanoltri (125km) On arrival we will check-in at the hotel and there will be free ime to elax and enjoy your surroundings.

 

Dhanoltri is a beautiful spot set amongst deodar forests, 25km north-east of the town of Mussoorie.

 

Dhanolti has fantastic views of the Himalayas and is a perfect spot for yoga. After lunch there will be a lecture from our Ayurvedic Physician who will during which ayurveic techniques will be demonstrated. In the evening there will be a renaissance meditation and energy healing class followed by dinner. Overnight in Dhanoltri. (Hotel)

Day 05: IN DHANOLTRI

This morning we will start the day with a walk, taking in the spectacular views and the clean Himalayan air. After our walk we will have our morning yoga and meditation session. In the afternoon you can choose from many rejuvenating therapies. Overnight in Dhanoltri. (Hotel)

Day 06: DHANOLTRI – RISHIKESH (120km)

Today, after breakfast we will drive to Rishikesh, ‘the Yoga capital of the world.’ Here you will be checked into a delightful camp specially designed for relaxation and yoga, located on a beautiful white sand beach on the banks of the Ganges with the Himalayas behind.

 

Once you have settled in the first yoga session will commence on the beach. After lunch there will be free time, options include kayaking, swimming and volleyball. In the late afternoon there will be another yoga and meditation session. The evening is free. Overnight Rishikesh. (Yoga Camp)

Day 07: IN RISHIKEH

Early in the morning we will have yoga and meditation on the beach followed by breakfast. After lunch again there will be free time to take part in any of the activities at the centre. Late afternoon there will be another yoga and meditation session, dinner and a free evening, some guests may wish to go to the ghats in Rishikesh to watch the Aarti ceremony. Overnight Rishikesh. Day 08: RISHIKESH – DELHI

The morning will run as per days 6 and 7. In the late afternoon we will transfer to the train station and board our train back to Delhi, arriving in Delhi late in the evening. Overnight in Delhi. (Hotel)

Day 02: Mumbai - Cochin

In time transfer to the airport to connect flight for Cochin. You are greeted on arrival at Cochin International Airport and driven to hotel. which lies in the shade of Cardamom Hills and is a beautiful area of tranquil winding roads, tea gardens, rubber estates and spice plantations. Check-in at the hotel. If you are upto it, you can visit the resident "VAIDYA" (Ayurveda Doctor) for consultation. You can also do it the following day.
